Building Security:
Security personnel are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Security officers are in uniform: white button down dress shirts with the Thorpe Enterprises logo and dark slacks for easy recognition. Each officer is required to wear a photo identification badge. The officers make routine patrols throughout the building, garage and retail area and are available to assist with special needs or in the event of an emergency.
The Security control center is located on the lobby level to the left of the building entrance from the parking garage and to the right of the Tryon Street entrances to the building. Security is staffed 24 hours a day and 365 days a year and may be reached at (704) 386-8210.
201 North Tryon security system includes CCTV (closed circuit TV) throughout the building and parking garage. 201 North Tryon's security system includes a locking and monitoring system for all stairwells and perimeter doors, intercoms at all entrance points; emergency call buttons and scream alarms in the parking garage; state of the art fire alarm and elevator control systems as well as two-way radios. Each system is controlled and monitored from the Security Console.
Office Security:
Although 201 North Tryon maintains a 24 hour security operation, tenants are ultimately responsible for the security and protection of their offices.
Security officers will check to verify that tenant offices are locked each night, but this does not eliminate tenant responsibility to secure offices and workstations and follow prudent security measures.
Prevention is the best deterrent to theft and criminal activity.
Please follow the below listed precautionary steps to prevent theft in your offices:
- Lock all doors when you are not in your office and upon leaving at the end of each day.
- Do not leave keys to desk and filing cabinets out and unsecured; take them with you at all times.

- Keep all valuables inside a locked desk when unattended.
- Do not leave valuable articles including handbags and coats in unguarded areas, in unlocked desk drawers, or on desks in offices, even for brief periods.
- Thoroughly mix your vault or safe combination lock when closing.
- Notify Security of solicitors or suspicious persons in corridors, offices or restrooms immediately.
- Take special precautions just after opening, during lunch hours and just before closing when people may be absent from their workstations.
- Record equipment and property serial numbers to aid police in recovering property if lost or stolen.
- Report all thefts to Security as soon as they are noticed missing.
- When working late, notify Security of the floor you are on and ask that they periodically check on you.
